I recently read about a study that analyzed the results of Vitamin
Studies and found that a higher percentage of the folks taking the
vitamins were dead than the folks who did not.

For all I try, I can't find the resource anywhere now.

Could the article you read possibly have been about an experiment
involving rats that took a form of vitamins and died sooner than those
that took a different kind of vitamin?

I'm certain it was humans.

One, for the impact it had on my impression of vitamins, and because
it concerned studies over the past 20 years.

I would think that studies from 15-20 years ago wouldn't be relevant
to rats so much

Googling tells me that rats live 1.5-3 years.

Here is a study that has been widely discussed in the news. It
involved analyzing the results of 19 different clinical trials
involving vitamin E. Surprisingly, the analysis indicated that people
taking high doses of vitamin E tended to die earlier:

Is this the study you're looking for?

That's pretty close, but I'm certain this looked at Vitamins A, B, C, & E.

Is this the one you have been looking for:

"There is now strong evidence that antioxidant supplements -- vitamins
A, C and E and beta carotene -- are not effective in protecting
against gastrointestinal cancer. On the contrary, there may be a small
increase in mortality from these tumors among people taking
antioxidants compared with placebo."
