I want to use rfid to identify CDs. I need the readed to identify it
only from very close range (to avoid identifinig other nearby CDs)
from what I see , RFID is a very reech world of products.
I need the exact direction which RFID kit to take.
I also want at first to get a cheep kit for experiencing the posibilities.
I need to be able to Identify the CDs with PC software.

I think that barcode is not that trivial , since it must be a special
round label, otherwise the reader wont read it if the disc is rotated.
Anyway about RFID , is it so more expensive then barcode ?

I suppose it'd be possible, *IF* you can find an RFID sticker that
won't upset the balance of the CD or DVD as it spins, nor interfere
with the operation of the player. Placing a barcode sticker on the CD
might actually be a better choice, as you can remove a sticker,
customize the look, choose a font, etc. Plus, the equipment can be
lots cheaper.

Some reading material:

But, I would guess this means that the CDs and DVDs have built-in RFID.

Nope. I'm just ignorant of doing the search before I talk...
