I'm travelling out of country and trying to access a couple of
websites online, but they are turning me down because of my location
(france) - I'm assuming this. Is there anyway to show my originating
location as the U.S.? This isn't for anything illegal, fyi. Thanks in
advance!

Hi, I'm actually a ffox user, so I'm familiar with extensions, etc. I
tried your method down to the letter, but it doesn't appear to work. A
good test site is apparently movielink.com - even with a US proxy
running, it boots me to some globabl site. Please try that or give me
details on how to get it working. Thanks!

Actually, reading through it again, it seems like your instructions
don't match up to the latest version of the extension that I am using.
Can you redo the instructions to account for it? Also, you mention
number combinations, on that site you gave, there are only lists of
numbers, no combinations. Should those numbers be used as the HTTP
proxy or something else?

Thanks!

Hey Sorry, I didn't realize you were talking about the "anonymous
proxy" setup. All the same, I put in a few servers from that link, and
none of them seem to work - no websites load, not just US-only ones,
none period.

Gah! OK, the proxy thing works, except I can't use Firefox for this
website - is there anyway to

a) make Firefox look like Internet Explorer (something like what we
did with the proxy)

b) do something similar to the Firefox method except with IE

Thanks!

I'm no expert but I think it might be possible. If you have a computer
based in the US. You can link to your home computer using your
computer in France and use your home computer providing your sharing
settings are correct. Try it.

Yes, you can. If you can find what is called a proxy server based in
the United States, you can access the website through that proxy
server and set it up through that.

Proxy servers based in the United States start on Page 13 at samair.ru.
http://www.samair.ru/proxy/proxy-13.htm
You can go on to the next page for a continued list, it's several pages long.

Now, what to do with these servers. When I use a proxy server, I use
Mozilla Firefox with an Extension called SwitchProxy Tool. If you are
not already using Mozilla Firefox, you can download it at:
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

After you have installed Mozilla Firefox, you can download the
SwitchProxy Extension here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=125

Simply follow the onscreen directions to install the extension and
restart Mozilla Firefox.

Once the extension is installed, you will need to right-click on
Firefox's toolbar, near (but not on) the back button. Select
"Switch-Proxy Toolbar." A new toolbar will appear. Click the piece
of paper marked "Add." Click "Next" and enter a name for your proxy.
Now, enter some of the number combonations from the proxy list linked
above. Copy and paste each number combonation into the small box with
the "Add" button next to it. After entering each number combonation,
click add. Enter a high number into the "Change proxy every ___
seconds" field, like 500 or something. Click "Save." Your proxy
configuration should apply automatically, if not, select it in the
drop-down box to the left of the toolbar and click "Apply." Now,
simply browse to the URL you want and your IP will appear as it is
from the United States.

NOTE: Some proxy servers may not always be up. You will most likely
not be able download files through the proxy server. When you are
connected through the proxy server, your internet speed will be
significantly slower. To stop using the proxy, use the drop-down box
to select "none" and click Apply.

Try accessing it with some of the free anonymous browsing engines
available such as www.anonymouse.ws.

Run a quick google search for Free Public Proxy and you'll get a ton
of results with pages containing lists of proxy servers which you can
use to anonomysly connect through in any country that has internet. A
good site to find them is http://www.proxy4free.com/index.html

There are also premium proxy servers that you can buy or rent cheaply
which guarentee speed and high anononymity.

Simply plug the IP number(proxy address) and port ie. 80 or 8080 into
your browsers connection settings and start navigating. You may need
to try several before you find one that works fast enough for you.

All of the big browsers support connecting through proxy servers.
