Question ID: 526356
Set in the home of a young family, everything in this house tries to
kill its occupants.{The house is possessed?}
All of the electrical appliances are "malfunctioning", the doors close
and lock when they're trying to escape, the phones go dead when they
try to make calls, etc. The part that I remember most was near the end,
in the basement when the washing machine turned itself on and began to
overflow onto the floor. The FuseBox down there "mysteriously" opens
and the live wires are suddenly headed towards the floor to try and
electricute the family. I think they managed to escape but Im not
sure. I know it was a B-rated movie because I specifically remember
thinking to myself..."This is sooo cheap". But it scared the crap out
of me nevertheless, and I cant figure out its title to save my life.
Please Help!

Does this sound like your movie?

"An intelligent pulse of electricity is moving from house to house. It
terrorizes the occupants by taking control of the appliances, either
killing them or causing them to wreck the house in an effort to
destroy it. Then it travels along the power lines to the next house,
and the terror restarts. Having thus wrecked one household in a quiet
neighbourhood, the pulse finds itself in the home of a boy's divorced
father whom he is visiting. It gradually takes control of everything,
badly injures the stepmother, and traps father and son, who must fight
their way out."

Ummmmmmmm........... this SOUNDS like it could be it.
Even if its NOT, this still sounds like a movie I wouldn't mind watching.
{I LOVE scary and supernatural movies, stories, books, everything!}

The movie I was thinking of is "Pulse." It involves appliances running
amok, with a scary scene in the laundry room. There is also a very
irritable garbage disposer that throws forks at people. Eeek!

I'm unlocking your question in hopes that another Researcher will be
able to find precisely the movie you're looking for.

The first movie I thought of was "Ghost in the Machine"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107009/

Plot Summary -
"Karl, a technician in a computer shop, is also the "Address Book
Killer," who obtains the names of his victims from stolen address
books. Terry and her son Josh come into the store to price software,
and a salesman uses Terry's address book to demonstrate a hand-held
scanner. Karl obtains the file, and while driving to Terry's house
that night in a heavy rainstorm, his car runs off the road and lands
upside down in a cemetery. While Karl is undergoing a CAT scan at the
hospital, a surge of lightning courses through the building, and
Karl's soul is transformed into electrical energy. Karl uses the
electrical grid and computer networks to continue his killing spree."

In addition to "Ghost in the Machine," mentioned by a commenter above,
another possibility is "The Mangler 2":

"With meat freezers automatically shutting, washing machines thirsty
for flesh and electrical appliances of all sorts turning into
murdering machines, it's up to Jo and her 4 accomplices to put a stop
to the computer before it wipes out everyone that's stuck in its
path."

Regarding "Ghost in the Machine":

"But, you have to give the filmmakers credit, they tried really hard
to make you scared, and at times, with little scenes here and there (a
bowl of grapes deflating due to a berzerk microwave, the killer's
garbled voice on the phone line, the body flying out of the oven while
being cremated and of course, my favorite, the washing machine that
displays sadistic wash cycles such as 'explode' and 'die'."
