A quarter is a three-month period.  Trimester is another name for that.

What is the name for a four-month period?

A trimester itself can sometimes be about 4 months, depending, I
suppose, on how long the "year" itself is considered to be:

Beyond that, a full-text search of the Oxford English Dictionary for
the term "four months" did not reveal any word that is defined as a
period equal to four months.

Wouldn't that period be called "triannually"? It seems to be a term
used quite a bit in the publishing industry.

Quadmester has been used, but then, so has tetramester (arrrgh)!

Good question.  The calendar year is just not supposed to be divided
in thirds; it is unnatural; bad for your health to even think about
it; if we were meant to, we would have a word for it.  ;-)
