I suspect this truck was used between 1900 and 1910 in Los Angeles. What is the make, model and year of this car and where would someone have purchased this (new) in Los Angeles during this time? (http://photos.yahoo.com/mprohias@pacbell.net/) in the "angona winery album" |

When I saw the photo of the Angona Winery truck I thought the front end looked like a Model T Ford. I did a little searching and found this: http://www.modelt.org/gallery/pic.asp?iCat=46&iPic=118 http://users.wclynx.com/theshaws/marty_trucks.html http://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/1924.htm MODEL YEAR DATES: August 1923 to August 1924. BODY TYPES: Touring, Runabout, Tudor and Fordor Sedans, Coupe, Chassis and ?C? Cab Truck. I am pretty sure that the Angona Winery truck is a Model T Ford "C" Cab truck. If the info on the last link is true, it would not have been available until August 1923. |

Yeah, I looked at lots of trucks too. Those Fords that Redhoss shows have almost horizontal hoods (very typical for T-models), but the winery truck's has a slope. I didn't find it, but I think it is pre-1920. I saw a very similar ones on a site with Hercules truck frames for Ford T-models. Nowhere did I see such and open cab, but that could be special for S. Cal. A while back there was a question about cars, and I found the site of an auto club in Surrey, England, that seem to like to discuss the identification of old vehicles. If you search here with my user name and Cars you can probably find it. |
