Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to provide the name,
phone number and email address of ten or more small one, two or three
man companies that that independently sell advertising for one or more
magazines (These people are often called independent sales
contractors).
Note, there are several mid to large size companies that outsource
advertising sales to publishers. While I am interested in these type
companies (and will tip you for them), I prefer smaller one, two or
three man organizations. To be correct the answer should provide a
minimum of ten independent sales organizations that are no larger than
3 people. Any information provided beyond the ten can include larger
companies.
Just to be clear the contacts provided must be independent of any
publisher. Many larger magazines have their own advertising sales
force however people in these organizations do not qualify as they
work for the publisher and are thus not independent.
In addition to the base price I offer a $2.00 tip for each entry
submitted above the ten with a maximum tip of $22.00 being possible
(The tip caps at $22.00).
I realize that determining the size of a company is difficult and will
rely on a lot of guesswork on your part. Just do the best you can,
and I won?t complain.
Finally I was not sure how to price this question. If you think it
should be worth more let me know. I can?t go a lot higher but we
might be able to work something out.
Note ? one way to do this might be to find a magazine that uses
independent sales contractors and then see who is listed on the online
version of the magazine. |

It seems that the real difficulty here is trying to separate a big
company and a small one. Plus such companies also do only do magazine
or print media, but others as well like tv, radio, etc.
How do you want to proceed after the observation I posted above?

If we were to change the criteria such that "too big" is defined as a
a company having more than 2 offices or more than 5 people listed on
their web site would that make the question managable? I suspected
that company size would be hard to determine...
Also the company does not have to do "just" magazine advertising;
other forms of advertising are okay also (t.v, radio, etc). However I
would prefer them to "at least" sell magazine advertising. If that
looks like it will be a problem, let me know and maybe we can relax
that somewhat.

Actually EasterAngel these guys are media-houses. They are a little
different. For the most part, companies call a media house to buy
advertising for them at discounted (somewhat) rates. They don't
usually try to sell specific magazine advertising to anyone.

They work for magazine like NASA Tech Briefs, McGraw Hill Construction
Engineering News, Microwave Product Digest, Government West, and
MIL/COTS Digest. THese are all low circulation mags tied to specific
market verticals. The verticals they serve are usually pretty far
away from anything commodity.
Hope that helps. I know you have been working on this a good bit
however if it doesn't look doable - I will cancel the question and
open another smaller question so I can compensate you somewhat for
your work.
