Although I haven't found an address for his new business in LA, I did
locate this article, which says Anthony Mark Hankins is moving to Los
Angeles, and is also changing his name:
"A Change of Address (by Tracy Achor Hayes)
Anthony Mark Hankins has never been short on enthusiasm, but the
dreadlocked designer is particularly ebullient over his latest news:
'I feel like The Color Purple, when Miss Celie says, I'm outta here.'
It's true. After 13 years in Dallas, the Home Shopping Network star is
putting his historic Gaston Avenue manse on the market, planning an
estate sale to end all estate sales and heading for Los Angeles. He
says he'll continue his monthly appearances on HSN through the end of
the year, but, 'Come January, I don't know.' What he does know is that
he's ready for a change: 'My work has been my life, but I need to grow
more. I need mountains! I need water! I need sand! I need cool nights!
I'm greedy!' Opening an art cafe in Chinatown is one likely
possibility. Ditto painting (he's already sold a couple of pieces), a
correspondent gig with Access Hollywood and enjoying a new romance.
The change even includes his name: Goodbye, Anthony Mark Hankins.
Hello, Mark Moya (the surname is that of his Cuban immigrant father).
What isn't going to change is the Anthony Mark Hankins brand, says
company president and CEO Bruce Ackerman. 'We don't have everything
worked out yet, but most of our manufacturers are in New York, so,
basically, [the California move] just means it will take him two hours
longer to fly to New York and [HSN home base] Tampa.' He adds that the
Atelier behind the Gaston Avenue house may close (postcards for an
'everything must go sale' have already been mailed), but, otherwise,
'it's business as usual.' Mark might disagree: 'Nobody knows that
Pepto-Bismol was my best friend.... Now I gotta go to higher ground.'"
