Hi again,
Since this worked for me before, I want to utilize this again. I am
getting two error messages upon booting. I started getting them after
I cleaned off the computer with this service last time. Also, ever
since they started popping up, I am no longer able to burn my DVD's.
I was copying them just fine before, and now when I put one in, it
doesn't read. It gives me an error that there is no disc there. I
haven't been able to copy any ever since I cleaned the system of all
the trojans/viruses/whatever! I use the Decrypter on them first, then
the DVDShrink and then burn them with Copy to DVD. Please help, it's
driving me nuts to not be able to do this. I don't know if the error
messages have anything to do with it. They pop up every time I
reboot. They are as follows: OD Host Error, CoCreateInstance failed,
status is 0x80040154
and the other one is: Runtime Error, ProgramFiles/Linksys/Wireless-G
Notebook Adapter/ODHost.exe

My biggest thing is the DVD burner working properly. Here is a HJT
file for you to peruse and thank you very much!

Just some clarification, what kind of DVD burner do you have? model
number would be helpful but at least brand and read write speed. So I
can help you locate the most recent drivers and software for it.

The best way to correct problems is to start from scratch, it's easier
to replace a light bulb than it is to fix it.

Make sure you have the original software that you wish to install for
your dvd burner, I noticed you have Cyberlink PowerDVD, make sure you
have the CD for that so you dont uninstall somthing you will have to
pay for to get it back again.

Uninstall all the dvd software that you can (I wouldnt recommend
uninstalling software you can't re-install)
To do this click "Start" and then go into your "Control Panel" and
double click "Add/Remove Programs" and uninstall your dvd software
(you might want to do some house cleaning of other unwanted programs
while your in there)

The next step involves un-installing your DVD hardware and drivers, so
before I provide steps with that I would like to ensure you have the
proper drivers, or if you already know how to do it, you can download
the drivers on your own finish the process.

After we walk through the process of uninstalling the
drivers/hardware, you'll reboot, and reinstall drivers and hardware.
Then re-install your dvd software.

Just good housekeeping practices, every once in a while go through and
remove unwanted programs (toolbars especially, most people dont use
them and they utilize resources, and most the time they intrusively
install themselves without your knowing)

Ad-Aware by http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ is good spyware removal utility.

Hi there,
Since I posted this, I also encountered a problem with my Wireless-G
Adapter. No matter what I do, it won't allow me to get on the net.
Since I can't utilize the CD/DVD-Rom, I also couldn't put in the
software for it. So, I guess I will have to fix that after I take
care of this DVDRom....For some reason it keeps giving me the
'Limited-No Connectivity' setting and saying it can't renew my IP
address. When I override the IP address, it says my connection is
excellent, but then doesn't allow email or the internet. I had
accidentally clicked to disable the adapter earlier while trying to
set my 2 computers up to network them.

Anyway, My DVD/CD-Rom is NEC DVD+RW ND-5100A DVD speed: 4x/4x/8 CD
speed: 24x/16x/24x and according to the hardware profile it is working
properly and has the most updated drivers. So, I have no idea what is
wrong with the hardware on this laptop suddenly. The software is all
the stuff that came with the computer for this thing, including the
Cyberlink PowerDVD. I didn't buy it, it came with the Dell.

I already have AdAware installed and run it all the time. Along with
a couple of others. The toolbars that I have are ones I use all the
time; yahoo and ebay. I will start uninstalling the software, to
uninstall the hardware do I do that under the 'Add Hardware' tab??

PS - I have all the software or access to it once the internet is
working again. All the standard drivers came with the computer and
it's not that old. Bought in November. So, I have uninstalled all of
the DVD programs except for one that I had to purchase via the
internet, and I don't have the info to reinstall it. I left that.
So, no what? :-)
Thank you,
Cassandra

PSS - I got Dell to send me a new DVD after trying to reinstall became
a nightmare and I did a system restore on the network adapter. I am
still needing help on the error messages though.

Thanks so much,
Cassandra
