Hi,

I am looking for a list of consulting firms in the LA and San Diego
area that specialize in doing GIS-based/spatial analysis/spatial
stats/optimal site location type stuff.

e.g. K-Mart/Starbucks/AG Edwards is looking to put a new store/outlet
somewhere in the LA area ---- they would hire one of these companies
to do an optimal site location analysis with regards to several
socio-economic and geographic variables.

Thanks,
vlad

It is the "socio-economic and geographic variables" that might make a
difference in an answer. Are you looking for a CRM archaeological
report before excavating the sites, underground utilities, underlying
geologic structure, etc? Many GIS consulting firms specialize in one
or two types of studies. If I can know the studies you want, I can
either find firms which might do them all (fairly rare) or an
assortment of firms whose abilities and specialities will overlap to
give you a complete picture.

Hi digsalot,

Sorry for being so unclear. When I said "...one of these companies
to do an optimal site location analysis with regards to several
socio-economic and geographic variables." --- I didn't mean geologic
(soils tech. type stuff) as much as I meant,----- (for example) Burger
King wants to put a new restaurant somewhere in LA, with which
intersection can they optimize the following (business-type)
variables: a) high disposable income per capita b) within 1 mile of a
freeway on/offramp c) low crime rate d) etc etc

Hope that helps.
