Running Windwos XP Pro and Excel 2003. If I open more than one spreadsheet within the same instance of the Excel application, the software throws another separate Excel icon down on my task bar. As I often have as many as two dozen spreadsheets open at a time, this is crowding the other applications I'm running on the taskbar and driving me crazy. Can someone please point me to how to activate the option to NOT open multiple taskbar icons? | |

Hi addisonbr, Terrific! Thank you for letting me know, I appreciate it. Hopefully you will rest more easily tonight. Here it is again to make it official - In Excel, go to Tools / Options / Views tab Uncheck the "Windows in Taskbar" option Only one icon will appear in the taskbar. Take care, hummer |

I didn't ask the question, but thanks Hummer. I didn't know that annoying behaviour could be killed. |
