I have a print of "Custer's Last Fight" by Otto Becker. It has the Anheuser-Busch placard on the front. It measures approximately 24" X 37". It is in good condition with a slight tear in one of the corners. I am sure it is at least 50+ years old. Any ideas on the value? Thanks, Darrell |

Hi, Darrell Julia Auctions was asking from US$600 to 900 in 2001 for the print: http://www.juliaauctions.com/toys/11-00/June30ATD/gallery.htm http://www.juliaauctions.com/toys/fall_01/catalog/ATD_12_2001/gallery_sect1.htm Luntes |

Thanks for the answer, however there appears to be more than one "type" of this print. The one I have does not look like the one you indicated, in that there is no writing at all on the painting itself...only on the little placard on the frame. That is except for the O Becker signature in the corner. The painting itself fills the frame and there is no white border. Curious. |

I have a copy of the lithograph, original wood frame with gilded plaster "Anheuser-Busch" placard top center. In the small, buff border surrounding the picture, along the bottom, the naes of ther participants above are printed. According to the brewery this indicates mine is from the second printing of the litho. At "Antiques Roadshow" in Seattle to years ago, I was given a $3000 - $5000 range. I have had better offers; I have had the print since about 1935 in museum-quality mounting. |

Forgot a couple of things - the original was destroyed when the Officers' Club at Fort Riley, Kansas, burned down around 1927. When the litho was reissued, mid-20th century, below the picture proper, 'Anheuser Busch Brewing Associaion' wsa replaced with 'Budweiser Beer'. A lesser quality reproduction. |

My father has had a sizable version 30 inch high by 44 inch wide(?) of this mural lithograph)hanging on his wall for decades...it too, has only the O Becker signature written in the bottm corner...it lies in a fabricated cardboard frame, made to look like a 3 inch wide woodgrain finish (it appears the frame came with it)...thankfuly, it is in perfect condition. For those who follow this historical period, my great grandfather (John Dolan, see Army's Arlington Cemetery Web site for notable war dead, from the 7th Cavlary) fought it out, along side of Capt.Marcus Reno, at the The Battle of Little Big Horn, so our famimly history is interwoven with this art work... |

I am interested in this print as well. I am somewhat confused as to which version is from the 30's. Is it the one that has a wooden frame with the border and anheiser - busch with budweiser along with the icon of the indian and us seal or the print in the carboard frame? |
