A few weeks ago, I must have done something to my computer because,
ever since, I've noticed that some websites have fonts that are just a
little too small to read. The funny thing is, though, only PARTS of
some websites are too small.

For example, when I log into Hotmail, the little login window is
barely legible, although the rest of the page is perfectly legible.

Another example: I visited the official website of the Canadian
government today, and I could hardly read the main text.

Even bits and pieces of this GA site are very small. I have this
nagging feeling that EVERYTHING is slightly smaller and, as a
consequence, SOME text is now too small to read. (Maybe it's just my
imagination.)

I use Internet Explorer 6.0, and my operating system is XP. I went to
Tools / Internet Options, and tried to change the font settings, but to no avail.

Any ideas on how I can enlarge things to their previous size?

Have you tried going to View > Text Size?

I can't believe the solution was that simple. (My face is pink.)

I am delighted to have been able to help you solve your problem.

By going to the View > Text Size menu in IE, you can select one of
five font sizes.

Font size sometimes gets reset by accident. If you are using a wheel
mouse, and you hold down the 'Ctrl' key while turning the wheel, you
can increase or decrease the size of the font in IE. I manage to do
this a couple of times a week, and each time it happens, I feel like a
silly stumblebum. My theory is that this is the Universe's way of
keeping me humble.
