Pepsico used Merrill Lynch in conjunction with its acquisition of Quaker Oats in 2001: "PepsiCo's board of directors selected Merrill Lynch to act as its financial advisor because of Merrill Lynch's reputation as an internationally recognized investment banking firm with substantial experience in transactions similar to the merger and because Merrill Lynch is familiar with PepsiCo and its businesses." "Form S-4" Pepsico http://www.pepsico.com/investors/filings/2001s4a.shtml Greenhill advised Coca-Cola in its proposed acquisition of Orangina in 1997: "Mergers & Acquisitions: Selected Transactions" Greenhill http://www.greenhill-co.com/ma/listCross.asp Allen & Co., LLC is maintained by this source to be Coke's investment bank as of 2004: "For instance, Mr. Allen's firm is Coke's investment bank...." Keek18 -- I was going to try to answer this using Coca-Cola's (and Pepsi's) last bond or stock issuance. But several factors make me hesitant to do this: * investment bankers can be changed easily, except when a corporate financial action is underway * investment bankers often are engaged with specific expertise involved Thus, if a firm wished to offer securities in on the Tokyo Stock Exchange it might well use a different firm than for a bond offering in the U.S. * Coca-Cola's last major financial offering appears to have been in 1998 Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |

A general answer will help as well. It is okay if the facts are not set in stone, but the known investors at the most recent point in history as well as who investment bankers are in general will help. Thanks!!! |
