Hi, I'm looking after a grammar check tool in german which works in
any windows application! I found great tools like "Grammar Expert
Plus" but the are only checking english grammar. There is also a great
software called "Duden Korrektur Plus" but this tool only works with
MS Word. I really need the grammar (and spelling) check in all
applications.

Regards,
Daniel

It would have been good enough if you haven't spammed with the address
of your website, but at least try to understand the question. The
client was asking for German grammar checker, not for searches in
German...

Currently there is no German grammar program available that works
across all MS programs. The Duden program (Duden Korrektur Plus)you
mentioned is about the best you can get.

The MS German spell checker is abysmal and unless you speak fluently
German and just need it to do a final check, is unuseable. Obviously,
the currently half accepted/half rejected official spelling reform
does not help, since is slows development of the appropriate software.

The only thing I can suggest is to buy the Duden, Rechtschreibung -
Band 1) and Grammatik - Bank 4 as well as Band 9 Hauptschwierigkeiten
(Main difficulties). They are not computer programs but they are
authoritative and easy to use. You should get them at amazon.de or at
any large international bookstore in NYC or LA.

Hope this helps. If we ever find a good program, we will let you know.

Oh and please do not use any of the automated translation programs.
They have their use, provided that you speak fluently German and can
then go in and edit what they translate (that saves time since knowing
a language and being able to translate is not the same thing). But
otherwise they are really hopeless!

Hi Daniel,
The spelling and grammar software with my MS Word XP (? the newest)
for German works quite well, even lets me choose between the older
spelling and the crazy new spelling. It is a great help - and I need
it.
Maybe you could learn to live with MS and "translate" texts into
whatever text system you prefer to use otherwise. It has a funtion
for that, at least passively; I can take a text from other systems and
it will give me a fairly legible text.

Viel Glück! Myoarin
