Microsoft Movie Maker apparently has a very nice feature which
Adobe Premiere 6.5 lacks:

When you import video from a DV Camera, MMM automatically splits
up your clips to match actual takes from the camera. It probably
uses the tape's timecode to figure this out.

Premiere 6.5 on the other hand, creates just one giant clip per 
DV tape.

How can I accomplish this auto-splitting functionality within Premiere,
especially, with video that I have already imported from DV?
