Hi brunoO1,
You're asking for a LOT of information, and your question might better
be broken up into three or four questions, and elminate one or two. A
suggestion might be to ask for the list of schools in the northeast.
Then, once you get that, post another questions asking the researcher
to find a few items about each of those schools. cath-ga

Bruno,
I would venture to guess that the following information is probably
available for a large list of schools:
[1] listing of independent secondary schools by region (northeast in particular)...
[2] specifics of size, number of students, grades represented...
[4] number of teachers, number of teachers per child...
The other things that you asked for really require an in-depth,
school-by-school search. I would guess that researchers could only
look into 3 or 4 schools, even for a fairly high-priced question like
yours.
May I suggest that you restrict your initial question to just the
above-mentioned information for schools in the northeast.
After you have an answer, you can then post a follow-up question
asking for details of particular schools that may be of interest to
you.
Just my two cents on all this...let us know what you think.

well, much of the info is available on the internet and in
publications--i would have assumed that with a quick google search you
may have concluded this.
the info you suggest below to restrict the inquiry to, seems a bit
lame for the money and the access you have to the internet.....
i will proceed as suggested, however, because i am pressed for time.
>>>restrict to northeast
>>>within northeast look in depth at five schools, three in Maine
(Waynflete and two others) and two in Massachusetts (Andover ( a
boarding school but this is ok) and one other independent day school).
let's stop haggling about how to make your job easier and get on with this.

Bruno,
Just to be clear:
--The information I was suggesting could be had is this:
I would venture to guess that the following information is probably
available for a large list of schools:
[1] listing of independent secondary schools by region (northeast in particular)...
[2] specifics of size, number of students, grades represented...
[4] number of teachers, number of teachers per child...
It can be put together for schools in the northeast, or for the US --
your choice. I imagine there would be several hundred schools on the
list.
--this isn't about haggling...it's about being realistic about what is
and isn't readily available
--we have no special access to the internet. It's the same access that you have.
--as for the specific schools you mentioned, that is what I had
suggested you post as a separate question, i.e., Question #1 (this
current one) to develop the large master list of schools in the
northeast (or US) and Question #2 to ask for in-depth information on a
few select schools.
--sorry that the process here is cumbersome sometimes, and a bit
annoying, perhaps. But at this point, we really need to have a clear
understanding about what -- if anything -- we can do for you, and
about what it is you would actually like us to do.
Please let us know how (or even whether) to proceed.
