Hello,
I am seeking best entities (magazines, websites, organizations etc.)
to target my press release on a new outdoor leisure and recreation
product. This product is targeted to an upscale end user consumer,
both male and female, between the ages of 25 and 75. I would like a
mailing list for each of the leisure and recreation activities listed
below.

- Beach
- Camping
- RVing
- Outdoor festivals and Concerts
- Picnicking
- Tailgating
- Fishing (from the shore)

Thanks for your help

tonyg7-ga,

An awful lot of press releases these days are distributed
electronically through services that -- for a few hundred bucks -- can
target hundreds or thousands of appropriate subject matter and
geographic pubications to receive your release. In cases like these,
you don't have to amass a list, but simply let the service know what
sort of publications you want to receive your press release.

From your question, it sounds as if you want to conduct your own
mailing of a printed press release.

Am I reading it correctly? If so, how many contact names would you
expect in your answer?

Hi pafalafa, sorry it has taken me so long to clarify. I would like to
approach this from a two prong approach. I would like to spend under
$500.00 for a automated release using distribution service companies.
And I would like to have a list of perhaps 4 or 5 contacts of key
entities that my user group is normally exposed to. I have to think
that a hand approach, like calling an editor or writer... and having a
conversation of my product then sending out a personailzed PR might
provide better results and chances for getting press. If your
experience says otherwise please feel free to share it with me. Might
there be a way I could disclose more about my product privately so
that you could tailor your answer better. Also, why do you feel
qualified to answer my question?

That was 4-5 contacts PER activity, meaning approximately 30 or so
total. If that is too steep than perhaps around 20-25 will do.

I think my question is perhaps premature. I am going thru the process
now of getting a base knowledge of PR strategies. With this under my
belt, I will then ask more targeted questions. Therefore I am going
to cancel my question. I hope no one has put any significant time in
towards my answer. Thanks for your interest.
