How do I program a computer using VB6 to answer a telephone call and
sense telephone buttons pressed.

Hello easygo,

There may be a couple alternatives that meet the need but doesn't
directly answer your question.
 - a free or low cost answering machine program (I can refer you to
several)
 - a call management program (similar in kind - handles FAX, modem,
phone)
The answer may also depend upon having a modem that supports audio
from the telephone line. If you would like me to pursue this kind of
answer, please let me know.

Hello Maniac,

Thanks for responding. I would very much like to develop both the low
cost answering machine program and a simple  call management program
using visual basic 6 thus I want some working sample code and if
possible some explanations of the code ( Theory ) alongwith.

Look into the Microsoft Speech SDK, it comes with serveral examples
simular to what you want.  You can download it here:
