Joel,
I agree with the others that an answer for the question as stated is
probably unavailable. However, I'm curious about the subject, so I
rounded up a couple interesting sources for you. According to
Affliates4cash.com, the highest paying categories are automotive and
travel, though it looked to me like online casinos were also pretty
strong. American Accommodations Network (travel) trumpets "We have
paid up to $30,000.00 to one person in a month just for driving
traffic to our site."

According to ads on Amara and other sites, Omni Casino is the winner
for gambling "Top affiliates are earning $1,000's a month with this
one!"

According to the latest Shop.org "State of Retailing Online",
currently the fifth in the series, "94 percent of surveyed retailers
rated affiliate marketing as effective".

When I changed my Google search strategy to "top affiliates earn" I
started getting some impressive individual returns, such as
Ancestory.com, that claimed to pay out over $250,000/month, with top
affiliates earning over $10,000

and Weight Loss Pills affiliates programs, which claims "Many top
affiliates earn $40K - $60K per month"

In my best year as an Amazon Associate, I made a little over $1000
with a site that only draw around 1000 unique visitors a day, so it's
possible that people with 100 times or more that traffic and a highly
profitable affiliate linkup could be making serious money.
