I saw a movie about 20 years ago, and it was about a cop shooting a
teenage kid.  The only scene I remember is that: the cops were beating
this kid and his revolver accidently went off and shot the kid in the
back of the head and it went into this whole courtroom drama film. 
The film was in color, but I don't know any of the actors or title.  I
THINK it was something like the "----- story".  Another part I
remember is that the kid was driving a van at a car dealership or
something along those lines.

another scene i remember is that during the courtroom scene they
showed that the kid was shot in the back of the head.  another one was
that during the scuffle the cop that shot him was hitting him with his
pistol.  the kid was driving a van

i think that the defense was that the kid was going for the cops gun. 
the movie is at least 20 years old.  it was in color.

the police officers were in uniform

I remember this one. I wish I could remember the name. I do remember
that it was a young man either late teens or early twentys. His
parents were trying to find answers as to why  thier son had been
killed. I think he was stealing this van from a car dealership when
the police arived. They kill him and plant a gun to justify the
shooting. I think this was based on a true story and I think it was
made for TV
