In the mid-90's I read a review of a collection of poetry by a writer
in the mid-West. One poem particularly liked by the reviewer
described the annual harvest evacuation of the fields by field mice,
and mentioned grumbling grannies, creaking wheels, lanterns dangling
from wagons. It seemed a marvelous set of images, but like a fool I
failed to either cut and save the article, or write down the poet and
title. I've tried various Google searches, and emailed poets'
societies in a number of mid-West states, without success. Even the
Library of Congress was no help.
I want the name of the poet and title of his collection. With that I'm
sure I can hunt out a copy of the book for myself. |
