Primary education in Australia and the UK - Which is better?

(More specifically, state schools in Victoria, Australia; and Church
of England schools in England - although if this level of detail is
not available, general national information is sufficient)

In my own quick research I have found that there are some reasonably
subtle differences in subjects in the curricula, for example Australia
includes 'language
other than English' and 'Environment', while UK does not.

However I have not found any information about outcomes, which I would really like.

I am not after a massively detailed 10,000 word study.
Ideally I would like a snapshot of conclusions of comparative studies,
with references, and perhaps your own view, with reasons, if you are
qualified to give one. Obviously the quicker the better, too! Thanks.
