What can i use to take the frams of a WMV movie i have and convert it
into either an animated GIF or multiple jpegs

The process is fairly simple. You need any video production program
installed. I recommend Sony Vegas. It seems a bit complicated for a
first time user using editing software. This one come with a wizard to
import the file. Once imported, you can open it and see the clip in
the editing window. There is an export wizard the will save the clip
as separate frames. You can choose the quality and the frame rate. Of
course, depending on the size of the clip and the output you choose,
it can take a while and a lot of space.
