Hi,
I'm trying to find out who was/is the owner of Nova Games Ltd. They were
a Canada based arcade game manufacturer.

The last address I have for the company is:
180 Graveline Street
St. Laurent, Quebec
Canada
H4T 1R7
514-342-5990

I'm assuming the company is currently not in business. I can't seem to
find any kind of a paper trail on them and would like to contact their
last existing manager or ceo.

I found references indicating that Nova Games has a relationship to a
company called "Flying Buffalo." I found these:

"Developed by Nova Games for Flying Buffalo Inc."
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/viewarticle.php3?articleid=55905

"A ?Combat Book? system, originally published by Nova Games now by Flying Buffalo."
http://home.centurytel.net/GOMC/Fall2004Sch.htm

"Flying Buffalo (formerly Nova Games)"
http://www.games-plus.com/games-plus/newreleases.htm

There may be a possibility they have information, possibly even
employees --that were formerly with Nova Games.

Here's the contact information:

Flying Buffalo Inc.
P.O. 1467
Scottsdale, AZ 85252

Phone: 480-945-6917

OWNER: Rick Loomis
EMAIL: rick@flyingbuffalo.com

http://www.flyingbuffalo.com/
General email: postmaster@flyingbuffalo.com

I'm posting this as a clarification, because I don't know if this lead
will pan out for you. It just seemed prudent to me, in this instance,
to not get in the middle. Keep me posted.

I checked into this lead and that was not the correct Nova Games (they
were out of connecticut).

Still hoping for help on this one.

Thanks!

Hello, Misterrachel:

Attempting to locate information on Canadian companies can be a
difficult proposition, but there is one central (free) source of
information which often yields the desired result. This is the
"Strategis" website operated by Industry Canada, which maintains
numerous databases pertaining to Canadian business.

In this instance, I located Nova Games in the Corporations Canada
database. Their entry indicates that they were incorporated in 1981,
and began the process of dissolving the corporation in 1987. The
requisite administrative details were finally concluded in 1995.

The database lists three principals for the company: C. Lai-Hing, E.
Prest, and N. Rubin. Contact information for these individuals is no
longer available on the website, but may be obtained by submitting a
written request to the address given at the following link:

http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/cgi-bin/sc_mrksv/corpdir/dataOnline/corpns_re?company_select=1105515#directors

You're looking for the paragraph in red, about halfway down the page.

Alternatively, you may wish to contact the law firm listed as the
company's counsel on this page, dealing with Nova's now-lapsed
trademarks:

http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/SSG/0509/trdp050988200e.html

Search strategy: I have used the Strategis site on many previous
occasions, and knew that the pertinent information could be found
there. I used the search term "nova games", and specified that the
complete phrase should be used.

This should enable you to make contact, unless the former proprietors
of the company do not wish to be found.

Good luck!
