Later this year, you will be able to get tools and documentation allowing your application to access the AOLŪ Instant Messenger(AIM) application and infrastructure. You will be able to power up your software and services with instant messaging integration! Taken from an AOL offer to developer>>>>>>... Is there any developer who has succeeded in intergrating features of AIM in their application or is there any website with AIM features currently published in the web? |

Have you looked into using the TOC protocol? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOC_protocol |

As far as I can tell, there are alot of programs that use AOL features, but most that I can think of are unsupported by AOL. AOL uses the OSCAR protocol, which was is reverse engineered by many and used in their programs. Look into open source applications like GAIM, that use AIM features. http://gaim.sourceforge.net/ Also alot of online bots used NET::Oscar protocal which is written in Perl. http://www.zevils.com/programs/net-oscar/ Both are unofficial uses for AOL aim technology. |
