Need Help Upgrading from U160 to U320 Controller

I want to upgade from my motherboard's built-in Adaptec AIC-7899 U160
SCSI controller to a U320 controller.

My tech recommends the Adaptec SCSI 39320A-R PCI card but says that I
must re-install the OS if I upgrade.

I also spoke with Adaptec techs and they said I do not need to re-install th
e OS. (Windows 2000

If I do not, need to re-install the OS I would like to know
step-by-step instructions on how to properly setup the U320 card.

TIA

I would also say there is no other way of doing it. Your OS must be
reconstructed 're-installed' based on the new hardware configuration.
Wish you luck.
