When I was 15 I was Married in Mexico, Neither myself or the 16 year
old boy I married were of age obviously. our parents were there to
sign for us. we never filed anything here in the United states. and
Neither of us have ever been residents of Mexico. We are both American
born and raised. this marriage didn't last more then 6 months. I am
now 29 and want to marry in Vegas. Can I still Marry. Was our Marriage
ever legal? I hear it isn't due to age and citizenship. then I hear it
is. Can you Help. and if it is How would I get an annulment or
divorce? |

It depends, --if your parents followed all the marriage requirements,
you are indeed married. Read this page, and reply back with answers
to the following questions. You may need to call your Mother and ask
her what she remembers.
Here's the link:
Applying for a Marriage License in Mexico
http://marriage.about.com/od/international/p/mexico.htm
1) Did you show I.D., --a birth certificate?
..."Some of the states require a certified copy of your birth
certificates, that has been translated into Spanish and confirmed by
your own country..."
2) Was the marriage performed at a local Civil Register Office?
..."A marriage in Mexico is legal only if it is a civil ceremony
performed at a local Civil Register Office (Oficina del Registro
Civil)..."
3) Did you remember giving blood to be tested, and/or have a chest X-ray?
..."A blood test for RPR, and HIV and Thorax (chest) X-rays are
required in Mexico..." [14 years ago, there would have been no HIV
test, but you would still have to have a chest X-ray and give blood
for RPR.]
Thanks,

The link I posted above, states that the Mexican Governemnt does NOT
return documents provided. It's possible it was not recorded.
1) Do you remember if the certified copy of your Birth Certificate was
given back to your Mother?
The lack of an X-ray or blood tests is good news, however, the next
step is to start looking for Mexican Government web sites and their
records online.
2) Was the marriage performed in Tijuana, if not, then where?
