I made a CD called Indocelt. A fusion of Traditional Irish music on
Harp and fiddle and vocal and North Indian Classical music on Sitar
and sarod and vocal. I am working on the cover now and looking for
Celtic images. Designs like on the Book of Kells, or Aran Sweaters,
or Irish Dance costumes, Gods, Druid stuff, Gravestones, that type of
thing .. which are available for free or cheap and which I can
reproduce on the CD cover withouth violation of copyright.
Also indian images, ideally to kind of match the Irish, perhaps
on the other side of the pages. interwoven ropes, snakes, tantric
temple images.
Best would be simple border-like designs rather than very detailed photos

1) Would links to many Public Domain Image sites that include, either
partly or wholely Celtic and Indian border designs work for you?

Also, do you want color, or black & white?

yes those public domain image banks sound good. I could use both
colour and black and white.

Don't know where you can find public domain digital celtic images on
the net for free, but Bookstores often have a lot of books on celtic
design, some of which are fairly cheap and include designs that you
can use. For instance, Dover publishes books that might be of use to
you, with designs in print and often in clip art on a CD-ROM that
comes with the book. You can use the clip art for your own work, as
long as it is fair use. You can get some of these used. Your local
library might have the print versions, although the CD-ROM might be a
stretch.

I have seen some of the Dover celtic books, but I have never noticed
the Indian ones. Here are a few titles, some with CD-ROM:
Celtic Frames and Borders CD-ROM and Book (Electronic Clip Art Series)
Celtic Designs for Artists and Craftspeople CD-ROM and Book (Dover
Electronic Clip Art)
Celtic Designs CD-ROM and Book (Dover Electronic Clip Art Series)
250 Stencil Designs from India (Dover Design Library)
5000 Designs and Motifs from India

There are also books on drawing your own celtic designs, if that is
how you want to spend your time.
