Hi could someone tell me if there is a way of putting the names of a town and county (Blarney, Cork) into separate cells on an excel spreadsheet, at present they are in the one cell is there a formula for this? Are is it a case of cut and paste Blarney, |

Hi armagh, Example: You now have: Column C: Blarney, Cork You want: Column C: Blarney Column D: Cork 1) Select the column you want to change (C). 2) Click on DATA / TEXT TO COLUMNS 3) Select DELIMITED / Next 4) Select TAB and COMMA / Next 5) Click on the DESTINATION LITTLE BOX (to the right of the field) 6) Select as many columns as you need for the addresses (C - D). 7) Click on the DESTINATION LITTLE BOX again / Finish Additional Link of Interest "ASAP Utilities contains over 300 useful and powerful utilities to fill the gaps in Excel, and automate frequently used tasks. thanks hummer,i walked through the steps you layed out and got the spread sheet in the order i needed,last year before i heard of google answers i had the same problem which left me copy and pasteing over 3,000 cells thanks again. |
