Hi could someone tell me if there is a way of putting the names of a
town and county (Blarney, Cork) into separate cells on an excel
spreadsheet, at present they are in the one cell is there a formula
for this? Are is it a case of cut and paste Blarney,

Hi armagh,

Example: 

You now have:
Column C: Blarney, Cork

You want:
Column C: Blarney
Column D: Cork

1) Select the column you want to change (C).
2) Click on DATA / TEXT TO COLUMNS
3) Select DELIMITED / Next
4) Select TAB and COMMA / Next
5) Click on the DESTINATION LITTLE BOX (to the right of the field)
6) Select as many columns as you need for the addresses (C - D).
7) Click on the DESTINATION LITTLE BOX again / Finish

thanks hummer,i walked through the steps you layed out and got the
spread sheet in the order i needed,last year before i heard of google
answers i had the same problem which left me copy and pasteing over
3,000 cells
