I am posting this as a clarification as I am not certain the
information I am about to post will answer your question 100%. If it
does, please let me know and I will post it as an answer. However, if
you find you need more help, please let me know and I will do my best
to assist you.
Because Microsoft Word supports Rich Text Format (RTF), the text you
import into Publisher will retain its original formatting. If you
use a text program that does not support RTF, the text you copy will
take on the formatting of the Publisher table that you copied it to.
(If you use a word program that doesn?t support RTF and you want the
text to keep the formatting that it had in the file you copied it
from, click the Paste Options button and then click Keep Source
Formatting.)
In your question, you state, ?Everything else I have imported works
fine.? If there is an existing text box in your publication that
already has the margins you want to use as defaults, you can use it as
the example for new text boxes that you will create.
To use pre-existing margins:
a. Right-click the text box that has the margins you want to use as
defaults.
b. On the shortcut menu, click Format Text Box, and then click the Colors
and Lines tab.
c. Select the ?Apply settings to new text boxes? check box.
d. Click OK. The next new text box that you create will use the settings
from this text box.
Then pick one of the following methods to import:
1. To Import SELECTED TEXT from a document created in another program:
a. Open the file that contains the text that you want to add.
b. Select the text.
c. On the Edit menu, click Copy.
d. Start Publisher, and then open the publication in which you
want to insert the text.
e. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
f. A new text box containing the text you pasted appears in the
publication.
2. To import ALL OF THE TEXT from a document created in another program:
a. On the Objects toolbar, click Text Box .
b. In the publication, point to where you want one corner of the
text to appear, and then drag diagonally until the box is the
size that you want.
c. In the text box, click where you want to paste the text.
d. On the Insert menu, click Text File.
e. Click the file that you want to import.
f. If you do not see the name of the file that you want to import
text from, you may need to change the folder or drive.
g. Click OK.
I have found that it is best to import text from a Word document that
does not include special formatting, and then adjust the formatting in
Publisher itself. Or, instead of importing a Word document, you can
copy the text from the Word document (Ctrl-C) and paste it into your
publication (Ctrl-V). This might preserve your formatting better than
importing.
I have never had a problem with autoflow before so I cannot help you
with that problem. However, below you will find contact information
