Ask him personally? I'd wait till another movie of his is being
released, and watch fan sites for an announcement that he will be
participating in a LIVE CHAT online. Several other famous directors
have done this, the chat transcripts are available online for viewing.

Maybe someone has already asked this question on the Internet, and
possibly the answer could be found.

WHAT IS THE PROP you are so curious about? What film was it in, what scene, etc.

I agree with Cynthia-ga. May I also suggest, that you'll write to his
business address. In the worst case, you won't get an answer. Would
you like me to post you his business address as an answer?

Dont think it is nessacery to actually speak with Mr. Scorsese, a
simple note or a email from him or his assistant would be fine.Even a
google answer, but I would like to pose the question to him directly
somehow in order to eliminate confusion.I did send a note describing
the particular scene to him at Martin Scorsese
c/o Artists Management Group
9465 Wilshire Boulevard Suite 519
Beverly Hills, CA 90212

is this his business address you speak of.
