I would like objective reviews of an organization called "Eurocamp"
that runs campgrounds in Europe. I am not interested in self-posted
opinion sites that may not be trustworthy, but opinions of the camping
experience and clientele at these campgrounds by objective, reputable
sources; the specific campground I am interested in is in Italy:
Marina di Venezia: Punta Sabbione, Adriatic Coast, their code # IT46.
The bottom-line question is, will an upper middle-class American
family with kids 7-15 years old feel comfortable in this campground?

Hello cottontopop-ga,

I am extremely jealous. It looks like you?re heading for a wonderful
vacation. I was able to find some reviews of Eurocamps in general and
Marina di Venazia at Punta Sabbioni in particular. The reviews ranged
from very good to ecstatic. I didn?t find a single negative review for
the company or any of the camps they operate. In addition, I?ve also
found some additional pictures and descriptions of the grounds and
facilities at Marina di Venezia so you will have additional
information about the site and amenities. It looks wonderful. I was
curious about the company so I?ve also included a couple of sites to
get you business and corporate information about Eurocamps. I think
you?ll have a wonderful time.

Best wishes for a fantastic family holiday.

E is for Eurocamp...

?E" is for "Eurocamp"-- which is "camping" as you've never pictured it
before, and a terrific way to visit France, Italy, or Spain (-- or
several northern Europe countries too; Eurocamp has 182 "superbly
equipped holiday parcs.")

Tents are definitely optional: we're talking "spacious, fully equipped
and completely detached accommodation": check out "canvas
accommodations" or "holiday homes".

Kids under 18 are free, kids' club is free, free use of toddlers'
crib-playpens, swimming pools, soccer clubs... The Eurocamp site has
a special section with activities for Families With Toddlers, Teens,
and other age groups.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. Most of these sites I'd
already visited, and they consist of either user reviews, which may
not be reliable--if I ran a resort, I'd encourage staff members,
friends and family to post favorable reviews--and they may not be
representative--who would take the trouble to write a review except
extremely unhappy or pleased customers. Most of the others are
marketing sites--they offer bookings, so they're not reviews but ads.
I was really looking for more objective reviews, as one would
find in a guidebook or travel or camping information site. Can you
find anything more objective and reliable?
Thanks-a good start, though.

Hello again cottontopop-ga,

I?m sorry that you didn?t tell me up front what research you had
completed on your own. It always helps to tell the researcher what
you've been able to find on your own. The information I shared was to
give you a good overview of the camping site you had picked.

I have been able to locate some additional resources that give you
ratings on European camping resorts from many different companies, not
just Eurocamp. On all of these, Eurocamp resorts come out on top and
your chosen site at Marina di Venezia is also very highly rated. I?ve
also found a couple of books for you that rate European/Italian
caravanning and camping sites that also might meet your needs.

It looks like you?ve chosen a wonderful destination. Have a great vacation.

Camping in Europe is a Matter of Style

Europeans are fond of the outdoors and there are camp sites wherever
people holiday. There are, perhaps, three types of camping: luxury,
pretty snazzy and bring your own tent.

Luxury first: Eurocamp, http://www.eurocamp.com, a subsidiary of the
Next group of clothing stores, has well over 100 sites in France, West
Germany, Spain, Yugoslavia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy and Austria.
Many are away from the population centres in the Swiss Alps, the
French Riviera, Tuscany, Innsbruck and the German Black Forest, but
Eurocamp also has sites in Florence, Paris and Munich.

***** Read the rest of the review for additional information on why
Eurocamp is rated in the luxury ranks.
