Greetings dear Google researchers,
I have a feisty multi-group of questions here I need answers to. As
you might understand this is of quite some importance and I will tip
accordingly to the level of my satisfaction.
200 is the top I could set for this question and 100 extra if I am
getting the answer I seek I see as most reasonable.
If you are capable of solving parts of the puzzles I have here I am
prepared to restate & reprice or relist one / several of the questions
as their own, although all in one is preferred.
@Q 1: Largest fishing (regular lure & tackle must be included in their
agenda) equipment distributors in the follow countries, please list
all you come by for each region by size of market share if possible:
Requirements:
1 At least 1 for each region listed must NOT be owned by a fishing
lure / tackle company, ie Rapala (Normark, although my understanding
is they do sell other vendors products?) or Pure Fishing, but please
do feel free to list all. Although minor ones with minor market share
are of no interest! Only interested in the larger distributors. But,
if one not owned by lure company, better to include one too many than
one too few. As too few here is not really possible.
2 GREAT (!) if % of market share could be provided. Yearly sales in $
good but not necessary, for region, not international. Number of ways
to consider market share, sales, number of resellers etc. The number
of resellers is that which I find most important as I want to reach as
many as possible.
3: Some form of contact information must be provided, be it a link to
website, mail address or phone number. Web site preferred.
4: Distributors specialized and only dealing with fly-fishing are of NO interest.
5: Distributors that only sell their own brands are of no interest,
although I do not mind they are listed if they are large as that is
interesting and important for a number of reasons (great if market
share is included!) but if so, do state they only sell their own
products. IE I do believe Pure Fishing works like this.
6: Nice if owner structure is included, IE family company for 4
generations? Just bought by Company X, newly started etc. Do not focus
on this, more that it is good if you include if you find it.
Sites that can be helpful for starters:
http://www.cortlandline.com/proshops/distributor_country.php
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph-T/eco_fis_sub
http://www.sufix.com/FishingLine/SufixBrandGlobalDistributors.htm
My understanding of the distribution in this market is not infinite,
maybe there is 5 large distributors for one continent with nearly no
country level distributors for one area? Distributors might have 10%
share in one country and large direct sales companies buying direct
form manufactures might have 90%? Maybe in one area
(US/Russia/China/Japan?) there are nation wide distributors but only
State/territory level distributors? If so list after reality and the
list and state so.
The list below is from http://www.nationmaster.com/graph-T/eco_fis_sub
where the $ market value for each country related to fishing is
listed. Their interest to me is in order as listed.
1-5(6?) VITAL (more distributors listed, % share and $ yearly sales /
profit / margin wanted) importance
6-10 GREAT () importance.
11-26 IMPORTANT.
27-32 Appreciated if included.
!!! The countries I want the research to be most focused on are Japan,
USA and Canada. It is vital I understand these markets, how they work,
who is what and their relation to the market, how they work etc. !!!
1. Japan
2. United States
3. Canada
4. Russia
5. Korea, South
6. Indonesia
7. Spain
8. Norway
9. France
10. United Kingdom
11. Ireland
12. Italy
13. Denmark
14. China
15. Germany
16. Sweden - Pure fishing largest and Normark second, about equal share.
17. New Zealand
18. Greece
19. Portugal
20. Iceland
21. Vietnam
22. Australia
23. Netherlands
24. Turkey
25. Finland
26. Mexico
Following countries not a must must.
27. Poland
28. Belgium
29. Thailand
30. Philippines
31. Malaysia
32. Peru
*** Bonus, not necessary ***
@Q 3: In general, do any of these countries have restrictions for
importing fishing tackles / lures from China, which part will have to
file papers? The one shipping them out of China or the part receiving
them from China? Obviously before they leave papers must be done.
@Q 4: Total fishers in numbers, regardless of age with numbers and
source provided for as money of the countries above as you can find,
the higher on the list the more important.
This information is often easiest to obtain from the fishing
association of each country in question. IE
http://www.asafishing.org/asa/statistics/index.html
http://www.fishing.us/facts/ 44 million fishers in the US
www.sportfiskarna.se/artiklar/ Sportfiskets_betydelse.pdf
http://www.daiwaseiko.co.jp/inform/english/index_in10.html (do they
distribute themselves or sell their products to distributors? If with
no help, how many resellers in Japan? Do they accept other companies
product in their assortment?)
If for any reason something is or become unclear, please do not hesitate to ask!
@Q 5: Margins? What is common praxis regarding gross margins for
producer, distributor and final reseller in top 5 countries? Also, how
does this differ when distributor and producer is the one and same as
Rapala/Normark and Pure Fishing? It is my impression it is vastly
higher in Japan for example. (The producer might not be a top 5
country, i.e. a company with it?s own factory in China)
@Q 6: Largest individual markets. Walmart I would assume is one,
another would be a large international fishing online site? Which
ones/one? Huge store Japan another? Which are the ten largest
individual (as in one company) ones? What are their yearly sales? List
10+ More than 10 considered bonus, assuming they are astronomically
large.
I understand there is no 100% correct answer, at least not for $ 200.
Sites with statistical data you think I might find use of is also
greatly appreciated. I appreciate if you keep me up to date on how
things are going with the research. |
