Hi gwwjr-ga,
Thank you for your clarification. All right then, here?s the information:
=============================================================================
For the A.R.C. brand, the person to contact in South Africa is:
Insane Atv
Tertius Kuijers
Automotive Division
Tel: +27 (0)11 979 3494
Fax: +27 (0)11 979 3457
Mobile: +27 (0)83 653 5177
E-mail: tertius@bettacfreight.co.za
*Note: The +27 and (0)11 or 83 are international calling codes, so you
may not need to use those. If you have any questions about the number
and how it's written, your local telephone company can likely be of
assistance, or see here: http://www.countrycallingcodes.com/
=============================================================================
For the Ocelot brand, ?Greg,? the person I spoke with, said he prefers
to be contacted by email. The address to use is:
greg@chaparralmotorsports.com
and he requested that you put ?Looking to License Ocelot? in the subject line.

SEARCH STRATEGY:
I learned some interesting information about both these companies
while researching them, so I?ll go ahead and share with you the rest
of what I found in case it may be of some use to you.
------
A.R.C.
------
First of all, Rocky Mountain ATV has registered the name ?A.R.C.
Advanced Rider Coverage? with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The link to that information is:
http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=qhp49s.2.10
Secondly, the homepage for the A.R.C. brand of products is here:
http://www.arcgear.com/ which I found by searching on the product
name.
On that page, I noticed the name ?Brandenhause.? Searching for that
name brought up that company?s website, here:
http://www.brandenhause.com . Looking over the information on that
site, it was apparent that this was the main company that handled
worldwide distribution for the A.R.C. brand, and they have a form for
requesting an information packet for potential distributors, here:
http://www.brandenhause.com/form.htm
However, I didn?t want to merely pass along that link without an email
address, so I searched a little further on the name, and found
Brandenhause listed in the Motorcycle Industry Council?s membership
directory, here: http://www.mic.org/members/membership/directory.pdf
*Note: this file requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view, so if you don?t have
it and would like to read the directory, you can download a free reader
here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
The Brandenhuase entry in the directory gave contact information for
Justin Deschamps, the company?s brand manager, whom I promptly emailed
and who was good enough to reply. For your information, the company?s
mailing address and phone number is:
1551 American Way
Payson, UT 84651-4651
US
801-465-3140
It was Mr. Deschamps from whom I received the information that Insane
ATV has exclusive rights in South Africa to the ARC brand, and the
contact information for that company. The email he used in reply to my
inquiry was supplierinfo@brandenhause.com which is different than the
one listed in the directory.
However, since the information he gave me didn?t include a physical
address, I did a little more searching, looking on
://www.google.co.za/ for SA company information, where I found a
link to SA?s CIPRO (Companies and Intellectual Property Registration
Office), here: http://www.cipro.co.za
There I found that Insane AV registered with them in February, 2000.
Here?s the information they have on file:
http://www.cipro.co.za/ccc/EntDet.asp?T1=B2004078935&T2=INSANE%20ATV%20PRODUCTS&T3=2004/078935/23
Private company since 2/11/2000
Enterprise number: 2000/027757/07
Registered address:
8 2ND CLOSE OFF MOUNT STREET
BRYANSTON
SANDTON
2021
Postal Address:
P O BOX 131127
BRYANSTON

-------
OCELOT
-------
Ocelot was not quite as complex to run down information for. I did
research the name, of course, and came up fairly quickly with the
information that this is the name of the proprietary in-house brand of
Chaparral Motorsports.
See this article from PowerSports Business:
http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:16bzfQfLoD8J:https://www.powersportsbusiness.com/output.cfm%3Fid%3D818299+ocelot+brand+offroad+apparel+accessories&hl=en
I then researched the company a bit, using various combinations of the
product and company name, and found that Chaparral Motorsports is the
retail or dba (doing business as) name of a company called Ocelot
Engineering, which turns out to share the same physical address as the
store, in other words this is a large, but localized California
company. The address is:
Chaparral Motor Sports
555 South H Street
San Bernardino, CA 92410
US
I then searched the State of California business listing information
and found corporate information for Ocelot Engineering here:
Incorporated 11/2/73, number C0692485 , active as of june 20,2005:
http://kepler.ss.ca.gov/corpdata/ShowAllList?QueryCorpNumber=C0692485
And information on the Chaparral Motorsports name, here:
http://www.co.san-bernardino.ca.us/ACR/FBNData.asp?FBNId=0162331
I?ve had a little trouble today with that link loading, so if you?d
like to see and it gives you trouble, try entering the name in the San
Bernardino County search engine yourself, here:
http://www.sbcounty.gov/acr/FBNSearch.asp
I then checked WhoIs (http://www.whois.sc) for information about the
website, and found the following information:
Administrative contact:
Shearer, Greg
phn: (909) 884-0484
fax: (909) 884-3183
greg@chaparral-racing.com
I sent an email to that address, but received no reply. So this
morning I called the toll-free number on the website, 800/841-2960,
and spoke with several people, none of whom could help. However, I was
then given a number for the store, i.e. (909) 889-2761, and told to
ask for the manager. After talking to several more people, I finally
did speak to the store manager, whose name is ?Raj.? He also was
unable to help me, but transferred my call to ?Greg? who gave me the
information above re: licensing. I do *not* know if he is the same
Greg as the one listed as administrative contact for the website or
not.
=============================================================================
I hope this gives you enough information to pursue your interest in
becoming a distributor for these products in your location. If
anything isn?t clear, please be sure to use the ?Request for
Clarification? feature to ask before rating and closing your question,
as I want to be sure you?re happy with the information given.
This has been an interesting hunt. Thank you for the opportunity, and
best of luck in your venture!
Best regards,
