Hello All; This should be an easy couple of questions to answer (couple that with the fact that I am poor and you see why it is only a five dollar post). I want to get back to reading some sci-fi books. What I always like are the books of Arthur C Clarke. I like his books because they explore scientific questions. He seems to consider scientific plausibility in his books. Lots of "what-ifs." 1. What is this subset of Sci-Fi called? (ie, space western, fantasy etc) 2. Do you have a list of personal recommendations of authors or titles that I should read? I know these are simplistic questions and I know I could post these to a newsgroup for free, but frankly I have enjoyed hovering around google answers for the last couple of years and absolutely love the quality of the information. Thank you all in advance. |

Glenn Reynolds, aka "Instapundit," has been discussing just exactly this subject for a couple of days, and his recommendations are usually good ones. www.instapundit.com |
