Hello, I want to build a site similar to someone else's. Is there any software out there that I can point at their site and it would strip out their structure for me? I realize that I would not be getting any programming or code. What I am looking for is a very detailed site map for that site. Something that will give me a pretty picture of every link in that site. Kinda like the software that is offered for developers to provide Site maps for sites they build but, reversed and a lot more detailed. I am not a technical guy, so I hope this description was good enough. If not, please feel free to contact me. Thank you, George |

koutroullos, Thanks for the info, but will any of these programs literally draw a diagram or a pretty picture of the links? What I'm looking for is some type of a graph or chart showing all the links and how they interact. Will this do it, or will it just compile the info in a way that a programmer would know what he is looking at? Please understand, I am far from a programmer. I need something that'll also organize the info for me. Thanks, and by the way, I see that you have a Greek Name. Where were/are you and or your parents from? My family was from Ikaria. I'll be going back in august. Thanks again for your help, George Markakis |

Microsoft Visio Professional 2003 will do exactly what you are asking (note that the standard edition does not have the ability to map web sites). Microsoft Visio is a standard for flow charting software. I have used this tool myself to generate website maps and found it to work quite well. If desired, provide the URL for the site that you want to index and I can provide a sample of the output. The way that it works is that you specify a URL and can define some rules (ex: only go 3 levels deep, specify whether to index certain file types such as images, etc). Here is a link to a document that contains some product information: http://www.microsoft.com/office/visio/prodinfo/tour.mspx Here is a link to download a free trial edition of this software: http://www.microsoft.com/office/visio/prodinfo/trial.mspx |

George I own nine sites and others have invited us to partner with them because of our expertise. Have you considered a site based on the silver conspiracy? If you did, you could pay for the finished book I wrote for you and market it on your new site. If you did so, I'd be glad to share with you how to use blogs to generate higher rankings for your site. You know you can count on MY WORD. You know how to reach me. Teri |
