What is the market size for laser micrometers?  I need to get an
estimate of the total number sold per year, for a small business
project.
 
Laser micrometers are used to measure diameters of cables, fibres,
wires, etc - often in a factory environment.  They can cost anywhere
from $10,000 upwards.
 
I would like to find out the total number sold in Europe, or in
America or worldwide - for whichever area data is available. I
appreciate that complete data will probably not be available, so
partial data covering one or more manufacturers or
countries/continents may have to be extrapolated by the researcher or
myself to give a total market estimate.  The researcher must specify
his sources and extrapolations so that the accuracy of the data can be
assessed.

The data is unlikely to be fully available on the internet.  Telephone
calls and some subtlety will probably be required, as suppliers are
unlikely to answer a direct question about their sales.
 
I will tip unexpectedly well for an unexpectedly high quality answer!
