Question ID: 53396
I am trying to find old nurses uniforms and other related items like
shoes and capes. Perhaps there are
manufacturers who have old back stock or some collectors who know
where to find some old uniforms. These could be from any time in the
last century or two. I would like to purchase them if they are not
too expensive. Thanks.

Old as in used, or old as in timeframe?

If it's timeframe, please state the
year range, so there is no misunderstanding.

I found 2 from the 30's on the 'bay

Hi zen822

Instead of using and possibly ruining
an antique piece of clothing, have you
considered having the uniforms made?
Very possible that the price would be
competitive.

I'm still looking for the old uniforms.

I'm sure that I could email you in reply,
but that would slightly defeat the purpose
of the open forum information here. Since
you have already posted your address, I
could send a copy to you instead.

Hi
Yes I could make them. I may do that. I just thought it would be
worth a try to find them. I know that the University of Pennsylvania
School of Nursing has a nursing museum. I do not know if they would
be helpful or not in the search. I am not in a big hurry and I
probably should have been researching this myself, but I thought I
would try this service. I did not know it existed. See what you may
unearth. thanks.
