Hi Catgirl777-ga,

I found a website with 2 reviews from users of Ionic While who both
give it 5 stars out of 5.

I found this site with a Google Search for: "Ionic white" reviews

I tried it a couple weeks ago and it worked as advertised. After
brushing, you squeeze two tubes of gel onto the mouthpiece (one of
them an "activator"), stick it in your mouth, press the button to make
the blue light turn on for two minutes. Then you're supposed to take
the light out and keep swishing the gel around for another 5-7 minutes
before you spit it out. That's one cycle. You do three cycles for the
main treatment. I did that; my teeth got quite a lot whiter. (the
swishing part is kind of annoying, since gels are too thick to easily
swish.)

There's also a followup treatment (a spray, not a gel, but it uses the
same active ingredients in a more dilute form). I've used it a few
times. It's harder to evenly coat and evenly whiten with the spray
than the gel.

The stuff works a lot better than the Crest Whitestrips which I had
tried before. It seems like they expect to make money subscribing you
to an ongoing service where you keep using the product once a month
indefinitely to offset the staining you do from coffee, soda or
whatever, but it's not insisted upon; you can just use the product as
a one-off too.

I tried Ionic White and I was pleased with the results. Actually I
was a little surprised it worked so well. My mom ordered the system
and received a free one as a promotional offer. I tried it and a
friend of mine commented that night that my teeth looked whiter
without knowing I had tried Ionic White. It didn't take long, and
didn't cause any sensitivity in my teeth (I hear this can be a huge
problem with some of the other systems). It was simple and made a
difference. I recommend buying the system with a friend and splitting
the cost because you get two units!

Reviews, comments and research here looks suspicious. Both the
question, answer and positive comments are from Georgia!

There are many sites with bad reviews. Some good comments in those
reviews are from Georgia as well! For example:

http://www.infomercialratings.com/ionic_white.htm

National Advertising Review Council has also reviewed their
infomercial (the second entry):

http://www.narcpartners.org/reports/list.aspx

Other reviews mentioning it does not work:

http://www.nbc4.com/consumer/5100771/detail.html

One review that says it works a little bit but will not use any more:

I recently bought the base Ionic White package for approximately $30.

My past experiences include whitestrips, various bleaching
mouthpiece-based systems, and a variety of miscellaneous products.

Whitestrips are useless. They apply easily, but left tiny white marks
on my teeth instead of whitening the entire surface. This, regardless
of how vigorously I applied them, or held them in place. This has been
the case with more than one brand of whitening product.

Bleaching mouthpiece systems worked somewhat, but I could never
sustain more than a few attempts because my gums couldn't take the
gel. Following the directions to the letter yielded a great deal of
pain, white gums, and only slight improvements in teeth whiteness.

The Ionic White system is the first product I've used that works, and
works REALLY well! .. with some caveats.

The mouthpiece is integrated as a part of the blue light. It can't be
boiled, fits extremely poorly, and most importantly, has no front wall
for the gel to sit on.

So if you use it as the directions show, you will whiten the biting
surface and back of your teeth, but no gel will come in contact with
the front part that people see. I kid you not, I noticed this through
the packaging even at the store.

The kit comes with three tubes of bleaching gel, and three tubes of
accelerator, to be used in tandem for a total of three 7 minute
sessions.

The first two sessions, I followed the directions, and made an attempt
to smear the gel upward to actually cover my teeth. The directions
state to use the mouthpiece and the light for 2 minutes, and then
'swish' the gel for an additional 5.

It was slightly painful, even through the lip balm I had used to
shield my lips from the gel. Swishing was disgusting; the gel doesn't
taste like much, it just feels nasty. The results were noticeable,
though not exceptional.

I decided the mouthpiece was worthless, and changed the protocol for
the third set. I had bought a 'Nighttime' bleaching kit with small
brushes at the same time. Using leftovers from the first two tubes, I
used a brush from that to brush just enough bleaching agent to cover
the fronts of my teeth, and then the same with the accelerator.

I then held the blue light up to my teeth for 5 minutes (2.5X that on
box), and then left the gel in for 15 minutes (2X recommended). I had
positioned my mouth as if I was a kid showing off vampire teeth. It
was very easy to hold this position, and I could have done it for much
longer because very little gel was not in contact with my gums.

The results were astonishing given my experience with past products. I
don't know how many brightness shades I improved, but my teeth went
from the yellow of 10 years of carbonated soda to what is now a
natural pearly white. It's so good I haven't even bothered to open the
third set of tubes yet.

Also, I suspect I could use the remaining set of tubes 3 more times,
because this way wastes so much less bleach.

It's possible the standard $10 bleaching kit with a brush would work
nearly as well, but given that I was quoted over $300 for dentist
whitening, I'm thrilled to pay $30 for the bleach with an
'accelerator'.
