My grandmother has this cookbook that she bought in the late 1940's
early 1950's in Charleston, WV from a man who delivered their bread,
she said the store was near Summer Street. The book is in tatters now
but she remembers it had a green cover. The book has over 1000 pages,
and has tons of recipes, as well as sections on canning, lunch boxes
and picnics, entertaining and formal settings, even a section on how
to set up a storage cellar for vegetables, how to monogram
tablecloths, fold napkins, it has parfaits, cakes, cookies, all sorts
of meats, soups, bread, everything... Some of the section titles
include "Don't count on your corner grocer for these jams,"
"Macaroons, meringues and kisses," "Can everything you can - as much
as you can." If anyone could tell me the title of the book and/or
where to buy a copy it would be greatly appreciated! I've been
through every page of what's left of the book and there is no title,
publisher, isbn... or anything to hint at the title. Thanks in
advance for all your help!

There are close to 400 cookbooks --with cover images-- at this site:
http://www.digmodern.com/go/to/CookbooksAll?s=Old It's a long shot
but perhaps your mother might recognize the cover, if the book *is*
there.
