Dear Tateti,
Good news: you don't need to do anything in particular. The "Chartered
Institute of Library and Information Professionals" states on their
homepage:
"Graduate level qualifications from the USA, Canada, Australia and the
EU member states are recognized in the UK" [...] "CILIP has a
reciprocal agreement with the American Library Association and the
Australian Library and Information Association which means academic
qualifications accredited by those bodies are recognized in the UK.
This allows graduates holding American, Canadian and Australian
Bachelors and Masters degrees in library and information studies to
apply for posts asking for qualified librarians and information
professionals in the UK." (SOURCE: Cilip, Qualifications from
overseas, <http://www.cilip.org.uk/qualificationschartership/Qualificationsfromoverseas>).
However, if you do want, just in case, to get recognition of your
degree (you already understand by now that homologation is not
necessary), you can contact the following body:
NARIC - National Recognition Information Centre
Help for Individuals with International Qualifications
<http://www.naric.org.uk/individualsIntQuals.asp>
On their homepage, you can read about the following topic:
Comparability of Qualifications
<http://www.naric.org.uk/comparability.asp>
Cilip homepage might be of interest in any case, with job listings and
more relevant information for a librarian:

I hope this answers your question. Please contact me if you need any
