He knows that if he has drugs in his system that they will be found
and reported, but that is not what he is asking. He is asking of his
boss will know what other medications he is on.

txprincess-ga, your question is a very good one.
please note that it will help the GA Researcher and conscientious
commenters (there are many) if you specify what jurisdiction(s) is/are
involved. Privacy laws differ between Canada and America and Mexico,
and across states/provinces.

Also, multiple jurisdictions *could* be involved in which case the
weakest link in the chain may be central to your question.

Decoding your handle I will guess that you are in Texas. Suppose the company
is in Houston and outsources the tests to a Mexican lab, with offices
in Houston TX and Brownsville TX. The specimen is acquired in Houston,
trans-shipped to the back-office in Brownsville and then sent across
the border to the lab in La Bartolina, Mexico where technicians
conduct analysis on Mexican wages.
Whose privacy laws govern: US federal, TX state, or Mexican.

It depends on the agreement between the Employer and the lab. Read the
disclosure statement very carefully, and ask the person at the desk
where you go for the test. In fact, since this is important to you,
I'd ask for a supervisor. Some drugs, such as Methadone, give people
special rights with the "Americans With Disabilities Act." For
instance, people cannot be deined a job specifically because they are
on Methadone. If someone on Methadone Maintenance was given a job
offer, and took a post-hire, pre-employment drug test --and the job
offer was rescinded as a result of the results, they'd have a winning
case in court.

I know you didn't mention Methadone, I just used it as an example.

Here's the page for Concentra's Drug Testing Program and Facility:
http://www.concentra.com/HS/drug_testing.asp

It says enough that if I was 'concerned,' I'd still recommend talking
to the senior staff at the facility when you get tested.
