How to find amateur female models for self-produced commercial.
Strictly on the up-and-up, a small company wants to create their own
promo commercial. If anyone remembers the old Multi-Tech Warehouse
Direct guy from the 1980s they know what I mean. Cost minimization is
paramount.

The concept in today's version requires two female models for an
outdoor stint of up to eight (8) hours. Budget dictates that company
is not paying large commissions to agents and middlemen and arrangers
and posses.

The Question is considered Answered if a list of two (2) sources of
female models is provided for the greater Toronto area.

please note that a newspaper Help Wanted classified is not acceptable.
It was being considered until I warned the principals that there was a
recent occurrence where a creep lured aspiring photo models to a hotel
still photo-shoot---he's now facing criminal charges. I suggested
GAT.

I'm sure there are lots of links like this available...

I don't understand why the principle decided not to use the
classifieds. If the company is legit, there's no reason to worry.

grthumongous-ga,

Have a look at this link and let me know what you think:

http://www.newfaces.com/model-search.php?action=Search&Act=on&AgeLower=15&AgeUpper=30&F=on&hc=&sc=&ec=&c=Canada&s=&ImageType=

These are photos and profiles of actresses in Canada (Toronto and
elsewhere) between the ages of 15 and 30.

Is this sort of listing of any value? Or were you hoping for a
different sort of approach? If so, perhaps you can elaborate a bit.

Let me know,

cynthia,
hjc* seems to be on the right track but I think I should have stated
these requirements:

-that the sites provide either photos (headshots are sufficient) or
they provide description. I notice that some of the sub-links under
hjc* were to amateur models who posted their own service offerings.
That is good and also quick to inspect.
-strictly Greater Toronto Area; not Ottawa or California.

pafalafa,
the newfaces link had some under 18s;
-requirement is for 18-38yrs

You can set the search paramters at NewFace to cover whatever age
range is of interest. Here are the 18-38 year olds:

http://www.newfaces.com/model-search.php?action=Search&Act=on&AgeLower=18&AgeUpper=38&F=on&hc=&sc=&ec=&c=Canada&s=&ImageType=

Note the "AgeLower" and "AgeUpper" numbers in the URL.

Alright cynthia, I accept your two links as just enough for an
Official Answer but if you could try to find one more link that would
be better.
Sorry Pafalafa, those hits were not really a good fit for the concept.

And Byrd, maybe you suggested approach is more likely to succeed than
one would first envisage. Overcoming today's burden of mistrust and
wariness could be problematic. Just as with your friend, these models
could bring their mom and pop or husband and boyfriend too.

Alas, back in the 1960s and 1970s it was a different story; everyone was nice.
(....remembering hot pants and halter tops.)

This may not work for you, but I had a friend once who had a business
selling soft-core fetish photos and videos. His thing was kinda weird,
but not all that shocking (lol!). He was a just super nice guy with a
rather odd interest, who'd never take advantage of anyone.

He had a limited budget too, and his best approach was the personal
one. We have a large college campus in our town, so he'd go a few
times a month to campus and just have a seat and watch the girls, er
world go by. If he saw someone who looked likely, he'd say hi, give
her a card, and invite her to call him if she was interested in making
some extra money for modeling. He'd do the same thing when he went out
to eat, which was quite frequently as he lived alone and didn't cook.
Just would hand a card to the waitress, or the girl at the next table,
etc. Always had his eye out, and a supply of business cards in his
wallet.

When the girls would call, and you'd be surprised how many of them
did, he'd explain the job, and invite them to an interview, telling
them they were welcome to bring a friend, or their mother or their
boyfriend along. Half the time *his* mother was there too! Of course,
he always had a ready supply of contracts on hand, and was always very
careful to document their ages, etc.

Seems surprising, but he always had way more models than he needed,
and many of them became good friends. He did use classified ads and
such also, but as I recall, his best models were the ones he found
with this personal approach. 'Course it takes an outgoing personality
and a certain sort of engaging friendliness my pal just naturally had.
Might not be your style, but I'm just mentioning it in case you hadn't
thought of that approach.

Cheers,
Byrd-ga

Hi grthumongous-ga,

Don't know whether it matters or not, but though I'm quite old enough
to remember the hot pants and halter tops era, ;-) my friend actually
started his business much more recently in the 90s. So though paranoia
is rather higher now than then, he still was not operating in those
lovely bygone days of unsuspecting naivete!

Best,
Byrd-ga
