Hey Joel, Good to see you back and I hope we can be of service again
to you as we were in the past.
That's a lot of domains Joel, you are probably getting more Spam than
the building can handle right about now. You might want to get the
services of a good webmaster sometime soon. 700 is probably much more
than you need for any service or scenario. Using them as pointers to
the main site is no longer as effective as it once was. In fact you
could get your main site banned from the search engines using that
method... just some free advice from a seasoned professional.
I'm working on a large website right now, which I'm at the stage of
going through the myriads of affiliate programs out there trying to
find the best ones for them. A list of top 100 or even top 500 are
going to land in the areas of adult websites and online casinos. Those
are the top. For the site I'm working on right now, this is good news,
they are a gambling site, and a large one. For you site(s) I'm not
sure this is such good news. This is not to say that you can't make
good money using affiliate programs, in fact there's real good money
out there for well groomed plans. Hence the problem everyone is coming
too with your question. We want to answer it right, whether it is for
$40 or $100 or what ever.
Even with the gambling status in my favor right now, finding the right
ones is a long process. I'm having to run checks on each of the
companies, look them up in forums and black lists, and make sure that
they are someone I want to put on this site. Its slow going.
If I were to give you a list of 100 companies I would not feel it was
a good answer unless I could at least checkout a number of those
companies in the same way. Unfortunately I'm not sure what I'm
checking them against, since I have no idea what your site(s) are
focused on.
I know in the past that you have wanted to remain rather closed
mouthed about what it is you are doing and where your business is
heading, but in this case its not going to produce a very good answer
if we don't know these things.
There are two basic types of website plans out there, which are money
makers. The first sells something and the second provides information
and services for free, building a community of visitors, and makes
their money off advertisements and affiliate programs. There is a
third, a hybrid really, is a mixture of the two, which gets into a lot
of planning and balancing. Some say these are more effective, but
really they are only more effective once the right balance is found,
until then they plummet like Amazon.com did until they find their
balance.
If you can tell us anything, it would help. I'm not laying claim to
the answer with this, there are a number of good researchers talking
back and forth right now trying to figure out how to get you a good
list. Shooting a shotgun in the dark is a good way of clearing a room
of bad guys, but now so good for this particular scenario.
