I'm looking for a giant ASCII art poster of the U.S.S. Enterprise from the original Star Trek series. This poster was around 4-6 feet long and showed the Enterprise coming out at the viewer at a slight angle. It included a great deal of detail (including detail on the reflector dish). It consisted entirely of ASCII symbols and was designed to print on a line printer (wider than 11"--maybe more around 16"). The ASCII art file was orginally circulating in the 1970s around the time when the original series aired. I'm looking for a source where I can download the ASCII file that produces this image. | |

Im not sure of where to find the source, but I believe the image you are referring to may have come from this magazine .. http://www.atariarchives.org/bcc2/showpage.php?page=162 It was available around 1976 through this company and their magazine "Creative Computing". The image shown on this archive of the magazine seems to fit your description. Im still looking to see if I can track an actual ASCII source, so Ill keep you posted. |
