Any suggestions for making your own sanding belts? I have a huge roll of sandpaper and would like to make sanding belts to go on my 3 x 18 sander. Someone must have tried the various new glues to do this. Has anyone had any success? |

I have done this in the past. The problem is that due to friction, it gets quite hot, so any glue that can't take a little heat doesn't work. Using strong gaffa tape (used in theatre applications) or duct tape developed for hot pipes does the trick! (when will Google hire me as a researcher? :) |
