I am looking for a village in France. I believe it is called Saint Ilere but I am not sure of the spelling. I believe it is in northern France but am not certain. Please could confirm the correct spelling of the village name. Please also advise where it is located. |

Dear Memory, There are several villages that come to mind: In northern France, you can find Saint Hilaire les Places <http://www.visitorama.com/87/Saint-Hilaire-Les-Places.html> And also : St Hilaire du Harcouet <http://www.ville-st-hilaire-du-harcouet.fr/specific/formats/index.jsp> In Normandy Saint Hilaire la Palud <http://www.st-hilaire-la-palud.fr/index.htm> Located in western France: Map of the location of St. Hillaire <http://www.st-hilaire-la-palud.fr/AccueilSituer.htm> Saint Hilaire (Allier) <http://commune-saint-hilaire.planet-allier.com/> In central France Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez <http://www.saint-hilaire-de-riez.com/> Western France I hope this answers your question, and did not add to your confusion. Perhaps this question is best answered by reference to a large French road atlas. My Michelin Atlas Routier France lists these. Even this list may not be complete - who knows if every village has been indexed? I hope this helps. first number [name] = departement second number = map page (larger numbers are further South) map square direction from nearby town ### is one of those found by politicalguru The map numbers run from West to East and then North to South, so low map numbers are in the North. St-Hilaire-lez-Cambrai 59 [Nord] 9 D3 E of Cambrai St-Illiers-le-Bois 78 [Yvelines] 34 C3 St-Illiers-la-Ville 78 [Yvelines] 34 C3 very close together, South of Monet's garden at Giverny, near Vernon; St Hilaire du Harcouet 50 [Manche] 49 E1 ### St-Hilaire-St_Mesmin 45 [Loiret] 69 E1 just SW of Orleans --- those below are in central or Southern France --- Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez 85 [Vendee] 78 C4 ### St-Hilaire-des-Loges 85 [Vendee] 93 E2 E of Fontenay-le-Comte Saint Hilaire (Allier) 03 [Allier] 100? ?? ### St-Hilaire 38 [Isere] 117 F4 NE of Grenoble St-Hilaire-Peyroux 19 [Correze] 124 C1 NE of Brive-la-Gaillarde St-Hilaire-du-Rosier 38 [Isere] 130 C2 N of Romans-sur-Isere St-Hilaire-de-Lusignan 47 [Lot-et-Garonne] 137 D3 NW of Agen St-Hilaire-de-Brethmas 30 [Gard] 143 D4 SE of Ales St-Hilaire 11 [Aude] 172 A2 South of Carcassone Saint Hilaire les Places ### not in my atlas Saint Hilaire la Palud ### not in my atlas ==== Here again are those that politicalguru found using Google: Saint Hilaire les Places ?? St Hilaire du Harcouet 50 49 E1 ### Saint Hilaire la Palud ?? Saint Hilaire (Allier) [Allier is dept 03] ~p100 ### Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez 85 78 C4 ### |
