How do I check ex british army personnel records for references. i.e. discharge

The Ministry of Defence (UK) web site provides detailed information on
Army Service Records and how to obtain them. Much depends on the date
of the service. The provision of some information is provided to the
individual or next of kin only, other information, such as World War I
records, are partial, or are to be found in a different number of
archives.
