you can use a simple cascading style sheet to change to the a webpage appears. If you posting forum or blogger supports css code then the change is simple. If you are trying to change a webpage you created you can use a css or a simple html command <body bgcolor="#hexcode"> that changes the color. |

In case you're referring to being unable to read text on a page - When I come across a page that has a poorly contrasted text color against the background, making it hard to read - I just highlight the text, making it easy to read. |

If you are using Internet Explorer, you CANNOT (as far as I know) override the background color defined by the web page's creater (on all pages). Microsoft dropped support for overriding the background a long time ago. (See bottom of post) If you really want to change the background, I highly recommend you select a different browser. Mozilla Firefox (www.getfirefox.com) is one of the most popular browsers in the world and it's free. It will also let you set the background on almost all pages. It's great for accessibility. To change the background in Firefox, go to Tools -> Options -> Fonts & Colors Then click background and change it to what ever you would like. Internet Explorer's background support only changes the background on pages where the background is undefined, or if the page uses CSS. (CSS is a new technology, and Microsoft is making the transition prematurely. It used to be able to change the background though) So, here's the best you can do in Internet Explorer. (I believe you may have already tried this though) You can go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Accessibility and select ignore colors specified on web pages. Then go to Colors and uncheck "Use Windows Colors." Now you can change the background. This will override it for some pages (those using CSS) but not all. |

Sorry, I forgot something. If you're using Firefox, you must also select "Use My" Fonts and Colors. If you don't select this, it will use the colors selected by the page. |
